# Versioning

> What can change in v1, what can't, and how to write an integration that keeps working

The API version is part of its address: `https://core-api.agentova.ai/v1`. The current version of the v1 contract is **1.0.0**.

## No breaking change in v1

v1 is a stable contract: Agentova makes **no breaking change** to it. An integration that works today keeps working: within v1, nothing you rely on is removed, renamed, or changes type or meaning — endpoints, fields, events, enumeration values, error codes, authentication, pagination, the error format and the webhook signature.

## What can be added

These additions can arrive in v1 at any time:

* **new optional fields**, in responses and in webhook payloads;
* **new event types**;
* **new values in enumerations** — a new `trigger_type`, automation `type` or `provider`, or a new error `code`, for example.

## Writing an integration that keeps working

* **Ignore what you don't know.** Don't reject a response or a payload because of a field you don't recognize.
* **Accept unknown values.** Treat an enumeration value you don't know — a `provider`, a `trigger_type`, an action `type` — as a plain string, not as an error.
* **Handle unknown error codes by their HTTP status.** `4xx`: the request has to change. `5xx`: retry later.
* **Check an event's `type` before reading its `data`**, and ignore the types you don't handle.
* **Keep IDs opaque.** Store and send them back as they are; never parse them.

Changes to the contract are listed in the [changelog](https://docs.agentova.ai/en/changelog.md).
